Lisa volunteers because...
I volunteer (mentor) to help others living with Bipolar disorder because I know and understand the importance of knowing that you're not alone and that others are on the same road you're on. When I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder I didn't know what to do. Bipolar disorder has such a stigma around it that you don't know who you can tell or if you should say anything because you don't want others to look at you differently. But I have personally learned what a beautiful person I am on the inside and out. And, just how much my personal experiences with bipolar disorder can help others. Always remember there's always somebody willing to help. And you're truly never alone.
